The Marlborough Rotary Club would like to remind any graduating high school seniors that the deadline for submitting scholarship applications to the club is Monday, April 30.

The club awards scholarships to Marlborough residents graduating from Marlborough High School, Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School (AVRTHS), and a student who resides in Marlborough but attends another area secondary school. Each candidate must be a senior graduating from high school in good standing and be accepted to a two- or four-year college.

In addition, the club awards a $250 grant to an AVRTHS graduate in vocational studies to use to buy the tools of his/her trade.

Applications are available from the students’ respective high schools, directly from the Marlborough Rotary Club, P.O. Box 186, Marlborough, MA 01752, through any Marlborough Rotarian, or the website www.marlboroughrotary.org .

“Youth service is a major component of the Marlborough Rotary Club’s community service, and education is the keystone for the future of our young people” noted club president, Sem Aykanian. “It’s in the best tradition of Rotary’s motto, ‘Service above Self’’.”

The Marlborough Rotary Club, which has been serving the youth, charities and service agencies of the community since 1922, welcomes new members.
